Collins Institute of Training is committed to providing all learners with appropriate support services to enable them to successfully complete their training and assessment.
Our short courses are delivered online, and we ensure that all students have access to academic and administrative support throughout their enrolment.
Pre-Training Support
Before enrolment, all prospective learners complete a Pre-Training Review to:
- Confirm course suitability
- Identify any language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) support needs
- Discuss course requirements and expectations
- Clarify assessment and time commitments
This ensures learners are appropriately placed and supported from the beginning.
Academic Support
During your course, you will have access to:
- Qualified trainer and assessor support
- Scheduled virtual classroom sessions
- Email and phone support
- Feedback on assessment submissions
- Additional guidance where required
Learners who require extra assistance may receive:
- One-on-one support sessions
- Additional learning resources
- Extended assessment time (where appropriate)
- Reasonable adjustment in accordance with our policies
Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Support
All learners complete an LLND questionnaire prior to commencement.
If additional support needs are identified, Collins Institute of Training will:
- Develop an Individual Support Plan (if required)
- Provide additional learning materials
- Offer further trainer guidance
Support is provided to ensure all learners have an equal opportunity to achieve competency.
Technical Support (Online Delivery)
As courses are delivered online, learners will receive:
- LMS access instructions
- Guidance on virtual classroom participation
- Assistance with login or access issues
Students are encouraged to contact Student Support promptly if experiencing technical difficulties.
Welfare and Wellbeing Support
If a learner experiences personal circumstances that may impact their studies, they are encouraged to notify the Institute as soon as possible.
Where appropriate, we may:
- Adjust training schedules within the enrolment period
- Provide referral information for external support services
- Offer additional academic assistance
Complaints and Appeals
Collins Institute of Training has a formal Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure.
All learners have the right to:
- Lodge a complaint
- Appeal an assessment decision
- Have matters reviewed in a fair, transparent and timely manner
