Pre-Training Review:
All prospective learners will complete a Pre-Training Review conducted via phone or video conference. This process ensures the learner understands the course requirements, entry criteria, expected outcomes, and commitment required. The review also identifies any individual learning needs and confirms the suitability of the training for the learner’s circumstances and goals.
Verification: The RTO reserves the right to verify the identity of the person enrolled to ensure they are the person doing the course.
Attendance: Attendance at scheduled virtual classroom sessions is mandatory. Learners must complete all scheduled virtual sessions and required assessment activities within the enrolment period.
Learning and Assessment Methods
Pre-course- Before starting this course, you will be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy and Digital (LLND) questionnaire. This quick questionnaire is used to determine your LLN skill level so that we can best support you in your studies.
During the course– Students will be given access to their individual Learning and Management System (LMS) portal. Each portal will be resourced with all the required Learning and Assessment material.
Assessment may include answering questions in your workbooks or online, doing projects and practical tasks, some of which may need to be observed by a person in your workplace, or directly by your assessor, and may also include keeping a log of activities you complete in the workplace that your supervisor can confirm. Assessment activities are designed to reflect real workplace scenarios and comply with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) fatigue management requirements.
Evidence collected during assessment must demonstrate consistent application of fatigue risk management principles in accordance with HVNL requirements.
Pathway: This unit of competency offers pathways into TLI – Transport and Logistics Training Package.
Career Outcomes: Graduates on this course will have the skills and knowledge required to administer a fatigue risk management system within the Transport and Logistics industry. It will include:
– Manage heavy vehicle driver fatigue strategies.
– Operate within a road transport fatigue risk management system.
– Schedule work and rest hours in compliance with a road transport fatigue risk management system
– Manage operations within a road transport fatigue risk management system.
– Plan and navigate heavy vehicle trips.
– Update and maintain records.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Learners may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning in accordance with the RTO’s RPL Policy and Procedure. Evidence requirements will be provided upon request.
Completion: Participants who demonstrate competency to the required standard will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for TLIF0006 – Administer a Fatigue Risk Management System within 30 calendar days of successful completion and payment of all applicable fees.
In addition, this unit of competency supports the Basic and Advanced Fatigue Risk Management schemes requirement for Heavy Vehicles under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).
